does anybody else think Where the Wild Things Are looks overrated?
i mean i read the book as a child, and i didnt really think much of it. its basically about a boy who comes up with an imaginary world of monsters, he becomes king of it, then gets bored and goes home. The end.
wassnt all that thrilling to me. nor fantastic.
the movie just looks bland. I want to see more movies like Coraline, Princess and the Frog and Nightmare before Christmas.
i to honest, i really hope this movie doesn’t get any awards.
I think the movie is taking the premise of the book and using it to convey the feelings of childhood. I doubt the movie will really be for children like the book is. The movie seems like you are seeing the world through the eyes of a child and for many adults it will strike a chord. Whenever I see the trailer I find myself really affected by it like remembering what it was like to be a child trying to escape the complicated adult world by immersing yourself into your imagination. I hope this movie wins some awards because it looks like it will be fantastical and make adults remember what it was like to be a child again. Maybe I’m placing too much into it before I’ve even watched it but it is so much more than a child’s movie I think it transcends it and conveys something deeper.
