Copyright and Copying?

When writing a cookbook, how are you extected to come up with recipies, are you supposed to make them up or can you copy them from other places. I kinda figure that you can put things like spagetti in and that kind of common thing but I mean things like, Weight Watchers Pizza and things like that.

This is a good question that you should be asking your editor or publisher.

No you can’t copy them wholesale.

If you are a good cook, then you have plenty of original recipes.

Or else, you can contact the copyright holders and get permission to use them. I have seen lots of cookbooks do that.

As for the ingredients, if you want to name them by brand, I don’t see why not if they are not the main focus of the book. But that can get fuzzy…
